On Monday, September 19th in New York City, LANE PR hosted the Allegrini Palazzo della Torre Wine’s “Cook-off for a Cause.” The event, which had been successfully executed the prior week in Denver and Seattle, invited media plus food and beverage trade attendees to NYC’s Lincoln Restaurant to sample Allegrini’s wines paired with original dishes.
The competing chefs were Scott Anderson of elements Restaurant, Jonathon Benno of Lincoln, and Alex Pilas of Eataly. After a very (very!) close race, the audience and judging panel scored Jonathon Benno’s dish the best to pair with Allegrini Palazzo della Torre. However, all the chefs were winners because, besides creating exquisite dishes, each walked home with a donation to a charity of their choice. Salud!
This past weekend, my colleague Jeff Segvich and I headed to Woodinville, Wash., to celebrate Redhook’s 30th birthday in 80’s style. Hosted on the brewery’s beautiful grounds, the event featured Redhook’s new Extra Special Birthday Beer and drew thousands of hardcore eighties music and beer fans.
