American Lung Association in Oregon

Challenge
The American Lung Association in Oregon (ALAO) is the oldest, national, voluntary public health non-profit organization in the state dedicated to fighting lung disease and promoting lung health. Despite its long history in the region, the nonprofit struggled to gain visibility for its community health and fundraising initiatives.

PR Strategy
LANE PR adopted the nonprofit as a complimentary client for a two year period and implemented statewide educational public relations campaigns to raise awareness for the organization, its many causes and fundraising initiatives which support lung disease research and prevention.

Result
LANE PR placed feature stories educating Oregonians on ALAO’s four focal issues: asthma, clean air, tobacco prevention, and lung disease. Additionally, LANE positioned ALAO’s leadership team as respiratory health experts who the regional media could turn to and drove visibility for its many fundraising events.
