Thoma Bravo LLC

How do you turn a negative into a positive?  In 2008, the economy was moving into a recession and the financial industry was in turmoil.  Amidst all the negativity, LANE PR saw an opportunity.

One of the most experienced and successful private equity firms in the U.S., Thoma Bravo needed to attract funding from limited partners and build positive awareness among peers and potential portfolio companies in consolidating sectors.  The media was starving for experts to guide them through the complicated issues arising from the credit crisis.  LANE PR made a match.

The agency introduced partner Carl Thoma, a 30+ year industry veteran, to the media.  LANE PR positioned him as a resource on smart investing, having weathered the financial crises of the 1970s. Introductions to key trade media were made and in-person briefings about the state of the economy were utilized to educate the media on Carl’s private equity firm.

The result?   Nine in-person meetings with influential trade media resulting in commentary in the Wall Street Journal, PE Hub, LBO Wire, The Deal, Dealmaker and Buyouts.  Most importantly, increased exposure helped drive investments for Thoma Bravo’s new fund in an extremely challenging business climate.
