Oregon Wineries

Oregon wineries want to be known for more than just producing exquisite Pinots.  They are custodians of the land with a shared passion for making wine in a sustainable manner.  LANE PR worked with Sokol Blosser Winery and Van Duzer Vineyards to gain greater visibility for their commitment to environmental responsibility.

Sokol Blosser Winery had the world’s first LEED-certified barrel cellar.  It had met the LEED’s certification requirements in five categories:  sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, and environmental quality.  LANE PR drove attention to this important advancement with press releases, dedication events, media tours, harvest time announcements and targeted media outreach.

For Van Duzer Vineyards operating a sustainable winery just made sense.  Not only was it good for the environment but it also resulted in better wine.  It was also the only winery in Oregon using GPS technology to reduce chemical usage in the vineyards.  LANE PR utilized press releases, media alerts, local events and one-on-one media outreach to gain visibility for Van Duzer and its innovative practices.

The results?  Sokol Blosser garnered attention in USA Today, Bon Appetit, Sunset Magazine, Alaska Airlines Magazine, Wine Business Monthly and the Business Journal.  For Van Duzer - a front page feature in the Oregonian and supporting coverage by Wines & Vines, KGW-TV, Wine Business Insider, Portland Tribune and Travel Oregon.
