Presenting at American Banker’s Retail Banking 2015 conference in Austin this week, Tom Brown of Second Curve Capital and BankStocks.com presented compelling data and directly addressed some of the industry’s most pressing questions: who is winning in banking today (big banks for the first time in years!); what is the future of physical branches (they aren’t going away, they just need to be reduced in size and staffed appropriately); and what is going on with bank switchers (research shows they are largely young and low income).

Remembering Muriel Siebert: Lessons for Life

Muriel Siebert made headlines this week as we lost an icon who paved the way for women in financial services, but also did so much more.

I first learned about Muriel in a business school class at Lehigh University more than 10 years ago. In a classroom of about 60, with less than 10 of us being female, we were told Muriel’s story of being a pioneer for women on Wall Street.  But as I learned more about Muriel’s accomplishments, I found her to be a role model for all women, not just those in financial services.
