Last year, LANE PR worked with the Cannon Beach Chamber of Commerce to drive awareness and visibility to Cannon Beach among consumers in the Pacific Northwest and around the country by placing stories in targeted media publications.
Cannon Beach, located about 80 miles west of Portland, is a popular coastal destination thanks to its proximity and its wealth of cultural, culinary and recreational activities. A pristine beach with its well-known landmark, Haystack Rock, offers a picturesque setting for visitors. Cannon’s galleries, restaurants, and shops cater to a wide range of tastes and budgets.
LANE PR invited Kevin Max, editor of 1859 Magazine, to come out and explore Cannon Beach for the weekend with his wife and two kids. Kevin and his family explored the local art galleries, hiked at Ecola State Park, dined at the EVOO Cooking School, relaxed at the spa and enjoyed their oceanfront beach view during down time.
Almost a year later, Kevin’s story “72 Hours in Cannon Beach” ran in the Spring 2012 issue of 1859 Magazine. The four-page article includes gorgeous imagery of Cannon Beach and a detailed recap of their visit to the beach.
