Our very own LANE PR vice president, Amy Paterson, has been honored as one of 10 national Women of Worth by L’Oréal Paris, which comes with a $10,000 award for her non-profit, My Little Waiting Room. As you can imagine, the entire LANE team was tickled pink when we heard the news! Amy is so deserving of this award, as she’s worked tirelessly to make My Little Waiting Room a success.
What’s My Little Waiting Room all about? My Little Waiting Room promotes the health and well-being of families by bringing drop-in child care to the hospital, allowing children to thrive as families heal. It is operated by Volunteers of America Oregon at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, and soon to open a second location at Providence Portland Medical Center.
In addition to the $10,000 award for her dedication to philanthropy and passion for making a difference in her community, Amy will be recognized at an awards ceremony and dinner hosted by L’Oréal Paris and Hearst Magazines on December 6 in New York City. At the event, one National Honoree, chosen via a public online vote, will be announced, and she will receive an additional $25,000 for her charity.
Public online voting is now open, and the last day to vote is Nov. 21. Visitors to the site can vote once per day for their favorite Woman of Worth, and the honoree with the most votes will be named National Honoree.
You can bet we are all voting our hearts out for Amy! Best of luck to her as the national voting commences.
