NIRI’s annual conference this year is themed “Prepare to Lead”. So who better to keynote this morning at the official kick-off of the event than Adam Bryant of the New York Times? Adam has published a new book on today’s leaders and is the creator of the Sunday NYT column, Corner Office, which takes an intimate look at CEOs and their leadership style.
Adam shared with attendees the 5 traits he’s observed of successful CEOs over his hundreds of interviews with these leaders.
5 Traits of Successful CEOs
1. Passionate curiosity
2. Battle hardened confidence – not being beaten by your failures
3. Team smarts
4. Simple mindset – Adam defines this as the ability to pour through all the data coming in and pulling out the 1 or 2 things that really matter.
