Oregon/SW Washington Chapter Honors Godfrey with Award of Distinction at Oct. 28 Gathering
New York/Portland, Ore. — Nov. 1, 2010 — Jamie Godfrey of LANE PR, an independently owned, national public relations agency, has received the Young Professional Award of Excellence from the Oregon/SW Washington chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). Granted at the 2010 Oregon PRSA Spotlights and Awards of Distinction Gathering at Portland’s Left Bank Annex on Thursday, Oct. 28, the Young Professional Award of Excellence recognizes an outstanding professional in the field of public relations and is one of three Awards of Distinction.
“We are thrilled to see Jamie recognized for her dedication and her exceptional skill in the art of public relations,” said Wendy Lane, founder and president of LANE PR. “Jamie is passionate about PR and about producing results. She maximizes every opportunity for her clients, challenges herself professionally, learns as much as she can, and gives back to her community and her profession. We are proud of her achievements and proud to have her on our team.”
Godfrey joined LANE PR in 2008 as an account executive and quickly grew her skills and expertise. Today, as a senior account executive, Godfrey implements a full range of public relations programs, including media relations, social media campaigns and community outreach events for a variety of accounts, including Dutch Bros. Coffee, Moonstruck Chocolate, Wines from Spain and Pacific Seafood. Prior to joining LANE PR, Godfrey gained public relations experience at CMD Agency and Peter Jacobsen Sports. A graduate of the University of Oregon, she is a member of PRSA’s Portland chapter, where she serves on the board of directors as vice president of member communications and as newsletter editor.
PRSA confers the Young Professional Award of Excellence on a rising star in public relations, accepting nominations for individuals who have entered the field in the past five years. The criteria for selection include a demonstrated commitment to the profession through career development and achievement, community involvement and volunteerism, and the “dedication to improving the credibility of public relations as a whole.” The award is one of three Awards of Distinction and was presented alongside PRSA’s Spotlights and Awards of Excellence.
