Dear friends, colleagues and clients:
I’m writing to invite you to celebrate with us – and to ask for your help. Amy Paterson, a vice president at LANE for many years, is a breast cancer survivor. The mother of a young child, she was inspired by her difficult experience during treatment to partner with a friend to create a non-profit project, My Little Waiting Room, that brings drop-in child care to hospitals. Although many offices and stores now offer this service, hospitals don’t, making illness and treatment particularly difficult for families with young children.
Now, My Little Waiting Room has received tremendous recognition: it has made it to the top 25 in the country for the American Express Members Project contest. This wonderful, much-needed idea now has a one in five chance to win between $100,000 and $1.5 million. Imagine all the families that would benefit from that investment.
