As we approach the 5th anniversary of Feast Portland, LANE’s food and beverage experts weigh in on this year’s festivities.
Feast Portland is the Pacific Northwest’s most anticipated annual foodie event, and with this year being its fifth anniversary the event is positioned to be the most spectacular and innovative yet. So we wanted to see what some of our food and beverage experts are most looking forward to this year:
Claire Castellanos, Account Director
What am I looking forward to at Feast 2016? Can I just say everything? Okay, if I have to pick one specific event, it would have to be Smoked. Being a meat-loving Texas gal, the overall theme of this event makes my heart sing. And the chef lineup is like my own personal foodie crush list. And don’t get me started on the wine. But it’s a close tie, because I do love a good brunch and the Brunch Village is going to be outrageous. Salumists, bakers and breweries…oh my. Also, more generally, I’m just looking forward to gathering with my clients, coworkers and friends over delicious food and great wine (and beer!).

I have a confession. This is my very first time attending Feast and my giddiness is off the charts! I’m really looking forward to seeing how the events that are hyper specific to culinary trends play out (well hello there Eat Your Feelings – Noodle Edition), but I’m also excited to experience the marquee events that everyone has talked/posted/blogged about for years. Also, as a professional brunch-er, I feel like Brunch Village takes top slot for events to check out and see how other cultures (from Japan to Southeast Asia) define my favorite meal. There better be mimosas…
Samantha Chulick, Senior Account Executive
I’m most looking forward to all the awesome “fun-size” events this year. The capacities for these events are fewer than 100 people so you really get to interact with all the famous foodies and winos. From “Franklin BBQ + Family” to “Peace, Love + Cocktails”, these events all sold out within minutes of opening up! My personal pick – the “Go Get You Some Picnic” featuring some Portland heavy hitters like Gabe Rucker of Le Pigeon / Little Bird and Tommy Habetz of Bunk Sandwiches / Pizza Jerk as well as some Portland newcomers like Maya Lovelace of the awesome Southern pop-up Mae. Plus, they’ll be featuring Union Wine Co.’s awesome new sparkling wine in a can. What more could you ask for?!
Camden Covey, Account Executive
Feast is celebrating its 5th birthday this year and it’s going to be epic! People are buzzing about the addition of fun-size events—bigger than the typical Feast Portland dinner but more intimate than the main events. The Drink Tank will have some awesome and on-trend events including Apertifs Ascendant that explores old-world meets new-world “dranks”. I personally am the most excited for Brunch Village—because bacon. And mimosas. 🙂
